2020/21 Bible Studies
The Gospel of John (Knowing the Bible Series)
Monday 9:00 – 11:00 am @ Angie Turner’s home (Childcare Provided)
Leaders: Colleen Schweitzer (503-826- 1914) & Angie Turner (503-789- 0059)
In this study of John's Gospel, pastor and author Justin Buzzard helps readers understand the most theologically and philosophically profound account of Jesus's life, death, and resurrection in the New Testament. From revealing his cosmic identity as being with the Father "in the beginning," to recounting the many miraculous signs attesting to his divinity, Buzzard illuminates John's unmatched portrait of Jesus Christ, the unique Son of God, sent from heaven to save all who would turn to him. This insightful guide encourages Christians to worship Christ as Lord and follow him on a mission to the world.
Revelation by John McArthur
Tuesday 9:30-11:30 am @ Mary Cox’s home
Leader: Mary Cox (971-281- 0498)
Revelation, The Christian's Ultimate Victory” The book of Revelation unveils Jesus Christ in His glory. This book is first and foremost a revelation of Jesus Christ, and we will be looking at what the angel of God revealed to John in a series of visions. This is an interactive study with great discussion and thought-provoking questions. There are 12 weeks in the study but it usually takes us much longer to get through the book
Mini Bible Marathons
Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 pm @ Michelle Underwood’s home
Leader: Michelle Underwood (503-358-5857)
Are you desiring accountability to be in God’s Word? If so, please join us for Mini Bible Marathons where we will look at larger portions of Scripture together. The purpose of our time together will be to set aside quality time to drink deeply from God’s Word. We will follow the sweep of themes and interrelatedness throughout Scripture as we identify specific themes and verses that speak directly to us today and then have an opportunity to respond to the Lord. The Word of God is active and living and speaks powerfully if we allow it to. Our desire in these times is to deepen our love for God, for His Word, and for one another as we grow and are transformed through the application of His Word.
TWICE A MONTH STUDIES
Experiencing the Spirit by Henry and Melvin Blackaby
Tuesday (1st and 3rd) 6:30 – 8:00 pm @ the Fireside Room
Leader: Kim Dodrill (503-201-8674)
Jesus says in John 16:7 “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” John 14:26…The Helper will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” Jesus was excited for the Holy Spirit to come to us, but sadly, the Holy Spirit is frequently misunderstood, leaving believers clueless about who He is and how He works in our lives. Join us in getting to KNOW Him. He is our helper, comforter, guide, counselor, power, sanctifier, and much more. He is the life of God in us. He is our gift.
TABLE TALK DISCIPLESHIP
Thursdays (1st of every month) 7 pm @ the Church
Leaders: Karen Nation (503-250-0669) & Jenna Huff (702-249-0612)
Join us for Table Talk Discipleship as we share hands-on ways to disciple our children and be intentional with them while at home. We will discuss and model practical ways to integrate a relationship with Jesus into everyday conversations.
