Men's Ministry

How Can We Serve You?
Our vision is to see men of God serving their families, church, and community with the individual gifts that they have been given, growing together as the body of Christ under His headship and for His glory.
Our mission is to provide the tools men need to fulfill this vision, facilitating their service by providing spiritual and physical support and encouragement.
Our strategy is to provide:
Spiritual support - prayer for those in need and structures for discipleship
Physical support - connecting men to one another and to existing ministries and helping them to establish new ones
Encouragement - learning, teaching, and fellowship (weekly Bible studies, annual retreat, annual turkey shoot, etc.)

If you want to be more involved this year, a great place to start is a weekly Bible study. New attendees are always welcome, the regular schedule makes it easy to get into a routine, and if you miss a week now and then it's no big deal!

As our civilization moves further from God's principles we need to stay solidly grounded in the unchanging wisdom of His Word. The 31 chapters of Proverbs are the centerpiece of the Old Testament's timeless "wisdom books," and there has never been a better time to study them. I would love to have you join me in reading through one chapter each day this month. Please text me at (503) 266-6603 and let me know if you will!

Saturdays, 7:00-8:00 AM

Instead of our regular men's breakfast, we are meeting earlier and faster on Saturday mornings throughout the summer for Strategy Debriefs. We spend the first 30 minutes in small groups sharing strategies for critical aspects of our lives such as discipline, time in the Word, prayer, temptation, and more. We end each debrief with prayer, then from 7:30-8:00 fuel up to take on the weekend.

Prioritize getting deeper in your relationship with God and your brothers: 7:00 sharp at the Eagle Creek Saloon.

Tuesday and Thursday Mornings, 6:00-7:00
If you are interested in joining a group of men for a 45-minute military-style morning workout, outdoors (rain or shine), that wraps up with a "Circle of Trust" and prayer, join us in getting an F3 group off the ground. Click here to learn more about F3. We are currently meeting at the Eagle Creek School. Email or text me ( or (503) 266-6603) if you are interested.

September 9th - 11th
Men's Roundup at Camp Tadmor is a regional men's retreat near Lebanon, Oregon where well over 1,000 men will gather for teaching, worship, food, and fellowship. This year's Roundup features pastor Chad Moore and musician Austin French.

If you are interested in going with us contact Chris Ernst at (503) 313-1646. For more information and to register click here:

September 23rd - 25th
Load your camping gear in your kayak and spend three full days building bonds with your brothers as we explore the spectacular John Day River together. We are planning to cover an average of 15 miles per day between ThirtyMile Creek and Cottonwood Canyon. If you feel you are lacking gear or experience come and talk to us; late season water levels will require more grit and tenacity than technical skill or special equipment.

For more information or to sign up early, contact Andrew Cornelissen at (503) 207-3534.

50 men gathered last weekend at Canby Grove for our 2022 Men's Retreat, and we have proof! A plaid contest, ultimate frisbee, go-karts, and bow-drill fire starting were just a few of our activities. Whether you were there or not, check out the PHOTO ALBUM HERE.

Your church needs more ushers, greeters, and people who can serve in the Helping Hands ministry. If you know it's your time to start giving back, email or call the church office: or (503) 630-5325.  Some areas of ministry require a background check.  If you know that you are in need of one to serve, click here to fill out the form.

If there is one thing last year taught us, it is that we need to be well prepared in order to be able to serve our families, church, and community effectively when they need it the most. EFBC Men’s Ministry and EFBC Safety Team are joining forces to develop the resources we need to show the love of Jesus when things go sideways. If you are interested in being part of the core team, please contact me at
